Amazing Ellesmere Port teacher leads a new youth movement – Blades Down

Inspirational teacher Danni Adams has launched a new youth programme in Ellesmere Port to raise awareness around knife crime, youth violence, and community safety.

After witnessing a tragic knife crime murder on her local streets, Danni decided to process the horror of the incident by trying to make a difference instead.

Last week, I had the privilege of meeting her and hearing her incredible story.

She has set up a new community organisation Blades Down to educate, support and empower young people, while working alongside the wider community to create safer environments for everyone.

She’s spoken to thousands of young people in PSHE school assembly talks, as well as getting youngsters involved in anti-violence projects, youth clubs and a Fearless Futures programme designed specifically for girls aged 10-19.

Danni would love to extend the community model she has created into other areas. Currently the chosen charity of the Ellesmere Port mayor, Blades Down has grown from nothing to a hugely successful CIC in a matter of a few months.
