A Big Thank you to all our local Magistrates

Local magistrates are the unsung heroes of law and order. All are unpaid volunteers, who undertake specialist legal training and serve for many hours a month dispensing justice in magistrates courts across Cheshire.

Last week I was delighted to be present at the swearing in ceremony of 15 new magistrates at Chester Crown Court.

And a few days ago, I had the honour to visit Warrington Magistrtates Court to meet with leading county magistrates Patricia Peters, Stephen Walton, Eric Hodgson and their colleagues. Many thanks to all our local magistrates, supported by dedicated court staff, who are doing an excellent job in often challenging circumstances.
