Congratulations to Chester’s Lord Mayor for a successful year

It was wonderful to be a top table guest at the Chester Lord Mayor’s Banquet on Friday, accompanied by my son Alex Pegler. I was delighted to be invited to join the Mayor, Cllr Sherin Akhtar, councillors and other distinguished guests in the Victorian Gothic splendour of our beautiful Chester Town Hall. 

Many congratulations to the Mayor for breaking glass ceilings as the first British Asian (Bangladeshi) female to hold the office in eight centuries and for her devoted service over the last year, performing more than 400 engagements.
