Declaration and Installation of New High Sheriff of Cheshire – Lynn Pegler DL
I am delighted to announce that I have just been installed as the new High Sheriff of Cheshire at a special Declaration Ceremony held in Runcorn’s beautiful Norton Priory Museum and Gardens.

Each High Sheriff serves for one year and is appointed by His Majesty the King to support the Crown, the judiciary, law enforcement, emergency services, and voluntary and community organisations across the county.
It’s a huge honour to serve my county in this ancient office, which dates back to Saxon times. I am looking forward to fulfilling the traditional role as well as supporting Cheshire’s vibrant arts and culture, the Canal & River Trust, Crimebeat charity and Cheshire Community Foundation, shining a light on the county’s incredible charities and voluntary groups.
I shall also be working with the Literacy Trust as a Reading Champion to promote the National Year of Reading, supporting Chester’s Storyhouse and using the power of drama to launch a new child digital safety campaign ‘Get Phone Smart’, delivered by Chester theatre-in-education group, 2Engage.
